Fiona Byrne
Clinical Quality Manager
Fiona joined the Medica (formerly Global Diagnostics Ireland) team initially as a locum sonographer in November 2017 and soon after became a permanent member of staff as a Clinical Specialist Sonographer. In September 2019 Fiona became the Ultrasound Services Manager leading the various ultrasound clinics and sonographer services that Medica provide privately and publicly nationwide. Fiona qualified with a BSc(Hons) Degree in Diagnostic Radiography and went on to complete a PgD in Medical Ultrasound. Fiona has in excess of 18 years ultrasound experience, holding a number of Clinical Specialist positions in a variety of hospitals in both the UK and Ireland. She worked for a time as an Ultrasound Applications Specialist thus broadening her ultrasound knowledge both technically and commercially. Fiona moved to a new role, Clinical Quality Manager and graduated with an MSc in Human Factors in Patient Safety in 2023. Fiona is also a guest lecturer in UCD School of Medicine, Department of Radiology.
